Dr. Sk Abdus Salam graduated from Al Ameen Dental College in 2000 and completed his post-graduation at S.D.M. College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, one of India's most prestigious dental institutions, in 2003. His passion for oral cancer surgery and microvascular reconstruction emerged during his postgraduate studies. After earning his M.D.S., he joined Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital (now Saroj Gupta Cancer Hospital) in July 2003, where he served as a junior resident surgeon for a year.
Since 2004, Dr. Salam has been freelancing in Bardhaman and has also held a position at Mithila Minority Dental College in Bihar, eventually becoming Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His primary focus is on oral cancer and its reconstruction, and he has successfully performed over 1,000 microvascular reconstructions for facial deformities. In addition to oral cancer surgery, he treats various conditions, including vascular anomalies, jaw and neck tumors, and facial bone fractures.
Dr. Salam has presented numerous papers at state and national conferences and has conducted hands-on courses in cadaveric flap dissection and microvascular reconstruction. He is recognized as one of the leading practitioners in Bardhaman.
